ACL Festival Birthday Party

September 7th, 2011

Dear Austin City Limits,

It’s hard to believe that only ten years ago you were birthed in this crazy city, becoming one of our most beloved music festivals. After a decade of bringing the best bands right to our doorstep, there’s nothing but love for you. Through the heat strokes, the cold rain, the smelly mud, the findings of grass up my nose and passing out during Bon Iver’s set… we’ve been through so much, but you’ve never let me down.

Now I know that next weekend is your moment to shine. And believe me, I cannot wait. But the good folks of Google Offers decided that this year, being it’s your 10th birthday and all, we should have a party in your honor! For everyone, for free. Tomorrow night. At Republic Square Park.

You would be proud, ACL, because there’s going to be live local Austin acts playing for you including Barton Hills Choir, Fresh Millions and Cowboy and Indian. Plus Alamo Drafthouse’s Rolling Roadshow will be screening our favorite videos over the last ten years. Attendees will even have chances at winning some 3-Day passes, with all proceeds going to support the wildfire reliefs.

So, Happy birthday Austin City Limits, I will be seeing you soon.

Where: Republic Square Park | 422 Guadalupe St

When: Thursday, September 8 | 6:00pm to 10:00pm

PS Just in case you missed last years….

Rolling Roadshow

May 31st, 2011

This month, the Alamo Drafthouse and Texas Monthly have combined forces to create the most perfect union between the Lone Star State and our love for the cinema in…The Alamo Drafthouse Presents The Texas Monthly Rolling Roadshow.

From June 4th – July 1st, these two teams will be screening a compiled list of films they believe are some of the best to come out of Texas. These locations will change from film to film, setting up in spots around Texas that appear in the accompanied movie . Blood Simple will be the Austin-based film during the series, but don’t let that stop you from going to more !

Best of all, it’s free and open to the public.

Check here for more details and an entire list of screenings.

Mondo Tees

September 15th, 2010

Skinner is a SICK illustrator/artist from Sacramento California. Mondo Tees is the bad assĀ  clothing line of Austin’s famous Alamo Drafthouse.

so NATURALLY, they paired up to make these rad shirts for the upcoming film festival, Fantastic Fest.

We just started printing these slayer-esque shirts today and we couldn’t be any happier with the way they turned out.
